Powering Resilient Housing: Designing
a Brand for Digital Transformation
Build Change | Disaster Resistant Housing
In our second engagement with Build Change on BCTap, we refreshed their identity with a new logo, design system, and brand guidelines. We also developed communication materials to amplify their message and engage stakeholders. This collaboration strengthened BCTap's brand presence, advancing their mission of building safer, more resilient communities through sustainable construction practices.

Aligning the Right Pieces: Crafting a Logo That Builds Resilience
We began the logo creation process with discovery and alignment workshops alongside the Build Change team to understand their values and mission. Through these sessions, we focused on conveying resilience, trust, and innovation. The final logo was designed to represent the construction process and the six key steps of their solution, with each facet symbolizing a stage in building resilient housing. This collaborative process ensured the logo aligned with their vision, creating a cohesive brand identity for global impact.

Powering Resilient Housing Proven 6-Step Global Construction Process
To effectively communicate BCtap’s six-step process, we focused on creating a clear, intuitive visual flow that makes the journey of resilient housing easy to understand. Each step is represented by simple blocks ensuring quick comprehension and highlighting the interconnectedness of the process. This approach allows stakeholders to easily grasp the stages involved for resilient housing in disaster-prone regions.

Creating a Dynamic Global Visual System
We developed a flexible, dynamic visual system for Build Change that adapts across digital, print, and on-site materials. Using consistent colors, typography, and graphics, the system captures resilience, innovation, and trust, while reinforcing the six-step construction process. This cohesive visual approach enables Build Change to communicate their message clearly and effectively across all platforms.

Strong Foundations: Aligning Build Change and Its Sub-Brands for Impact
We structured the brand architecture with Build Change as the main brand, and BCTap and Climate Resilient Housing as distinct sub-brands. While each sub-brand has its own unique identity, the visual system ensures alignment with Build Change’s core values. Consistent design elements like typography and color create cohesion, allowing each sub-brand to stand independently yet reinforce the overall mission of resilience and innovation in housing.

Crafting a Visionary Message
Crafting the leading message involved close collaboration with Build Change’s leadership team to align their vision with a powerful, clear statement that encapsulates their mission. Through discussions and strategic workshops, we distilled the essence of their work—scaling resilient housing solutions to reach more communities worldwide. This message highlights the ambition to not only build individual homes but to create lasting, widespread impact.

Data Visualization: Clear Impact & Insights
We focused on creating intuitive and engaging data visualizations that simplify complex information. These visuals present key metrics, progress, and results from BCTap’s resilient housing projects, allowing stakeholders to quickly grasp the scale and impact of their work. By using a consistent design approach, we ensured these visualizations effectively communicate the organization’s mission, making data-driven insights accessible and impactful for all audiences.

Comprehensive Design Guidelines: Ensuring Consistency & Impact
We created clear design guidelines for BCTap, covering logo usage, typography, colors, and imagery to maintain brand consistency. These guidelines empower the team to produce aligned materials, ensuring a unified, professional brand presence across all platforms while allowing for adaptability.
